I honestly didn’t know the first thing about the Roman Empire or physical theatre/clowning, but this show completely blew my mind and opened up a whole new world for me. The character of the nurse was just incredible and stole every scene, but it was also the chemistry between the entire trio that made the performance so special. Watching them work together as an ensemble was pure magic, and you could really feel the trust and energy they shared on stage. I was also so impressed by the creativity of the sound design, the costumes, set, and the other tech elements like lighting which all blended perfectly. Every single piece of this production seemed to fit together to create what felt like the absolute pinnacle of live performance. I recommended this show to all my friends and will be going to see “Shaolin Clown” with my boyfriend on Friday. I wish they were here for the whole month of August because I would’ve wanted to watch all the work brought by Teatro Fisico. I’m so glad I went, and I can’t wait to dive into more physical theatre and clowning from here on.
