Last Thursday me and my class went to the auditorium Zanon to watch a play about Mister Jackpot, a man addicted to gambling. It was my first time watching physical theatre, a type of theatre where actors primarily use their bodies to represent scenes without relying on props, interestingly even sound effects like the sound of the slot machine were performed by the actor. The play was very intense, watching Mister Jackpot lose everything and keep gambling unsettled me and emotions were amplified by the use of the stage lights. I absolutely recommend this play to understand an addict’s mind, however be aware that it could be very disturbing to sensitive people.
