Considerable wit and performance skills
Very well performed show in a good location. A Billy Liar/Walter Mitty type character who has delusions of being another James Bond has his life derailed by a careless accident and gets sucked in by the dopamine hit of gambling machines. A fairly dark theme enlivened by considerable wit and performance skills that include not only physical activity but also a very attractive crooning voice.

Absolute pinnacle of live performance
I honestly didn’t know the first thing about the Roman Empire or physical theatre/clowning, but this show completely blew my mind and opened up a whole new world for me. The character of the nurse was just incredible and stole every scene, but it was also the chemistry between the entire trio that made the performance so special. An interesting exploration by great actors of the link between absolute power corrupting absolutely and narcissistic psychosis. Superb and moving piece of theatre. Through dance and drama the solo performer (Magda) describes the horrors the Red Army inflicted on German women at the end of WW2. An intense yet often beautiful solo performance
An intense yet often beautiful solo performance, dealing with an often forgotten aftermath of WW2. Movement, voice narration and spare lighting and soundtrack say it all. The setting is that of Rossellini’s ‘Germany: Year Zero.’ The treatment, while completely different in focus and style, is equally direct. The link between Indian dance and the subject of this show is explained at the start, providing a powerful metaphor for what follows. Deserves a larger audience.

Magda offers a first rate, fantastic solo performance enacted through the Lecoq methodologies – shifting through a vast array of emotional and physical states that came to define and impact German women as a result of the Russian occupation of post-WWII Berlin. Having seen Tom Corradini’s one man Mussolini show last year, I was interested to see ‘something completely different’ from him. A clever, frequently hilarious script
Backstage crises make good drama – and, in this case, comedy. A clever, frequently hilarious script and first-rate performances by two multi-talented actors, playing multiple roles (with help from one or two puppets) yield an entertaining show, drawing not only on Shakespeare but on his source, Saxo Grammaticus’ History of the Danes. Frauenstärke in dunklen Zeiten
Dear Mr Jackpot, I would like to share my opinion about your show on gambling. I really enjoyed it and found it very clear and interesting. The performance was lively and kept me focused from start to finish. I appreciated the way you talked about the risks of gambling and why it is important to be careful. Dear Mr. Jackpot, How are you? I heard your story and was deeply touched. Your life has suddenly changed in a way you would have never liked to, but I assure you it’s not irreversible. Remember the people who love you and force that change, if not for yourself, then for them. You still have your whole life ahead of you. You can deal with your legal problems first, then little by little you’ll manage to settle down with your job, your house, and things will fall into place. Everybody → continua

A message for you. Dear Mister Jackpot, I am writing to you because your story really stayed in my mind. While watching you, I felt both interested and worried. New experience
I really enjoyed the theatre performance we watched on April 16th. It was my first time seeing a show in English. The actor was very good at playing Mister Jackpot and spoke very clearly; sure enough, I was able to understand everything thanks also to the fact that I had read the script beforehand. During the show, I felt as if I were part of the story because the actor occasionally tried to involve us, the audience. I was very surprised because I expected to see more actors, but instead → continua

A Great Play
This play was really great, I absolutely loved it! The main actor was super talented and could improvise so well, which made the whole performance even more exciting and fun to watch. I’d definitely recommend it to everyone. It’s awesome how it was put together by a small group of people, but it still turned out so incredibly well-made and professional. It’s a fantastic show that’s definitely worth seeing!

The most beautiful show of the school year!!!
I really enjoyed the show. I loved the actors for their charm and their interpretation of Shakespeare. I liked the expressions they used, both facial and verbal. I enjoyed the way the actors integrated the audience into the story. I just found the words a little difficult, but with a good B1/B2 level, they were quite understandable. The actors were very likeable and truly interesting. I would recommend it!!

The show was very interesting and funny. From the beginning, it caught our attention and made us feel excited. It was easy to follow and we enjoyed it a lot. The actors were very good and full of energy and they spoke clearly. Esperienza teatrale in lingua tedesca

‘Mister Jackpot’ proved to be a catchy and meaningful show. The actor, drawing on his long-standing experience in physical theatre, did his best to make the performance interactive and engage the student audience. The language used was clear, accessible and perfectly suited to our learning objectives as a Liceo Linguistico. A wider range of props would further enrich the show, perhaps supporting the most dynamic moments. Overall, it was an enjoyable and educational performance that effectively combined clarity, humour and an important message about the dangers of gambling.

An Engaging play
I liked the theatre performance: Hamlet, a devastating play, was presented by the actors with a fun twist, making me forget the tragic contest of the story. I really enjoyed the small jokes and mocking between the performers; the subtle witticism was, for me, the best part of the play. Too bad the audience didn’t quite catch the jokes because of the language barrier. Nice job!

I really enjoyed the show. In particular I like the fact that it talks about Hamlet but in a funny way, it looks as if it was a comedy in a tragedy, a very nice surprise! A great imagination
The setting wasn’t elaborated, so I liked how only two actors with only some chairs and a bag, managed to analyze a complicated tragedy like Hamlet. They used imagination to built the fourth wall, typical of the theatre and they transported the audience in their world. The actors had also a deep voice: it sounded like I was watching TV. They were also native speakers so, besides it was fascinating to hear their pronunciation, it was difficult to understand.
Anna Grandinetti Student at Liceo Scientifico Niccolò Copernico Hamlet Prince of Sweden
A Different Hamlet
The actors were really good in my opinion: they managed to engross the audience in the play and they were very expressive which helped understand what was happening. A difficult show
On February 4th, my class and other classes went to the auditorium of Zanon to see a play called ‘Hamlet Prince of Sweden.’ It wasn’t what I expected from the story of Hamlet. Instead of just focusing on a prince wanting revenge, this play seemed more interested in showing off the ideas of Metatheater (which is like a play talking about itself!) and what theater was like in Elizabethan times (a long time ago when Shakespeare was writing!). One thing that was really noticeable was how simple the stage was. → continua

Mr. Jackpot: un “one man show” che fa riflettere

We all together think that the best part of the play, in its simplicity, was the relatability of the story and of the characters. Even if the main perception of the show was comic and funny, the events that Virginie went through were overall deep and very common in this new teenager-world. Spettacolo molto piacevole e divertente.

Spettacolo Imperdibile!
Dire fantastico è riduttivo, lo consiglierei? Certamente SI!

BREXIT is not only a political issue currently in the news: it reveals a generation gap, a conflict between a father and a son in everyday life. Dreams, hopes and disillusion on both sides are revealed through amusing dialogues and mimicry. Two excellent actors, essential scenery, spot-on background music and voices build up a comedy which makes you laugh and think.

Spettacolo avvincente e divertente

Predstava je naravnost fantastična – posrečena zmes ironičnih dovtipov, ganljivih situacij in satire – vse v pravi meri. Mojstrska interpretacija, dober ritem, preciznost gibov. Scenografijo sta igralca ustvarila skozi fizično gledališče in sodobno lutkarstvo. Predstavo svetujem → continua

You must see Brexit ! Here is why : Tom Corradini and Samuel Toye offer you and your students an unforgettable moment of intelligent and accessible entertainment that combines comedy and intense emotion. In the play, British history and the story of a couple of Britons (father and son) intertwine. Brexit is therefore the pretext for an analysis of current society : love, family, work, technology, personal relations and of course… politics. I saw Brexit with my students : we loved it !

One man show fra teatro e storia, decisamente educativo
